Process water is critical in the pharmaceutical industry and it has to meet the stringent regulations and standards associated with final products such as Purified Water Supply (PW) and Water for Injection (WFI). As for the process water or raw material for production, it requires a guaranteed supply of high purity water which is free of toxins and very minimal level of Total Organic Compound (TOC). In order to obtain a reliable purified water supply, we adopt the applications of Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, chemical-free continuous Electrodeionization (EDI), high temperature water supply with Ultraviolet sterilizer, and biocides injection whenever necessary.
The treatment of the effluent from the production is typically handled by utilizing chemical treatments of coagulation and flocculation (to remove suspended solids and phosphorous), biological treatment which to reduce COD levels of the effluent, sludge treatment, and odor management whenever necessary.
